May Programmes

Last month we welcomed the return to our equipped2succeed programmes and what a wonderful month it has been!

On Monday the 17th of May, we started our 2nd Online Men’s Programme of the year.

Our first few sessions have been attended by a great mix of Nottingham men, from young men finishing college and figuring out what’s next, to men in their 40’s looking to find new purpose, and plenty of others finding themselves in a variety of situations. Although the UK is slowly getting back to a version of normality and in person delivery is once again a possibility, there were lots of benefits identified from our online offering and we didn’t want to remove that access for those that it was working for.

Following the success of our previous Men’s Programme, we can’t wait to get to know this current group even better and deliver the same kind of impact we know is possible. Please listen below for a 1st person account of the power of equipped2succeed, from one of our participants this year, Pete Fenner.

On Tuesday the 18th of May, we started another fantastic Women's Programme at the Vine Comunity Centre, where the facilitators - Zonia and Rohey - delivered a wonderfully high-quality introductory session!

As part of the equipped2succeed for Women programme, we invited their children to join us and get creative and active with a workshop focusing on:

- Setting goals.
- Building confidence.
- Staying positive!

We did activities such as the name game, where we got everybody to write lots of positive qualities about themselves, Stop-Go to demonstrate rewiring the brain and we also wrote down lots of positive affirmations to keep with us at all times! We also got everybody to set their goals and make models of themselves achieving them, out of pipe cleaners, card, felt, straws and feathers. Overall it was a wonderful session!

Here are just a few photos from a great day with 9 wonderful women and their children!

Last month we also launched the equipped4wellbeing Online Programme for Syrian women. Each week the online session has been attended by 20 incredible women, who are passionate about developing their toolkits to maintain their wellbeing and to develop the tools and capabilities that it takes to succeed and thrive in all areas of life.

Thank you to everyone who is working to improve the lives of themselves and others. We wouldn't be able to deliver the incredible programmes that we do, without your continuous support.
